NiKKi Fron is proud to be one of Japan's leading clutch facing manufacturers. Many of Japan's largest automobile makers are relying on our high-quality OEM clutch facings to meet evolving technical standards.

Plus, under our brand NiKKi Fron, we are also providing aftermarket clutch facings for customers who want to save costs by having their clutch rebuilt. With high performance offered at competitive prices, our clutch facing is favored not only in Japan but also in the Middle East, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and so on.

For this clutch facing products, Nikki Fron Trading Vietnam can only do business with customers in Vietnam. For request from customers outside Vietnam, please contact Nikki Fron Japan.

What is clutch facing?

In an automobile, a clutch is a mechanical device located between the engine and the manual gearbox. Its role is to engage and disengage power transmission to control the car’s driving force. During push-starting, the transmission-connected clutch disc (or clutch plate), is pushed by a pressure plate to smoothly grip the engine-connected rotating flywheel. Under the effect of friction, torque is loaded into driveshafts, which engages the clutch and moves the car.

The friction surface on a clutch disc is called a clutch facing (or embrayage). Its frictional characteristics are crucial to facilitate smooth slippage between the engine and the transmission. A clutch facing requires intense wear resistance, a high and stable friction coefficient in a broad temperature range.

Clutch facing

At NiKKi Fron, along with ensuring product safety and reliability, we have constantly been improving the performance of our clutch facing during operation. We also eliminate the use of materials with negative impacts on human health and the environment such as asbestos.

As an FRP (fiber-reinforced plastics) product maker providing integrated manufacturing solutions, we have been researching and developing sustainable materials to create clutch facings that deliver excellent driving experience. Finished products are also going through strict efficiency tests, which include the requirement to operate safely under uncommonly extreme conditions.

Smooth

Clutch judder (shudder) can make a car's steering wheel shake violently. One of its main causes is the wear and tear of the car's clutch facings or contact surfaces of components that they make contact with (flywheel or pressure plate). During engagement with the flywheel, the clutch intermittently slips and generates torsional vibration that shakes the entire car body.

To attenuate judder and offer a better driving experience, we designed our clutch facings with consideration to wear and tear in clutch facings as well as on surfaces of other parts that come in physical contact with them during operation.

Stability

Replaced clutch facings should fit well into various car models and work seamlessly with other components (such as flywheel). Lack of compatibility in the system can damage clutch facings faster. Sudden clutch failure can cause a car to overheat and shake violently.

The current design of our clutch facing, which passed several strict internal tests, is built in compliance with our standards established through many years of experience in the aftermarket industry.

Long life

A clutch facing featuring wear resistance is usually more durable. However, if too strong, its wear resistance performance can contribute to accelerated surface damage of its contacting components such as flywheels or pressure plates – parts that cost higher to replace.

Therefore, to save maintenance costs and time for our customers, we design NiKKi Fron clutch facing for the optimization of not only the product itself but the entire power transmission system as well. Our product enjoys the balance between its wear resistance and its impact on other contacting components in the automobile transmission system.
